The parent area

The parent area sits behind the PIN and is where you create tasks, approve rewards and see what actually happened. The overview is built so that checking it takes ten seconds, not ten minutes.

The overview

The entry screen shows what needs your attention — and nothing else:

• Open tasks per kid
• Pending requests, broken down into reward wishes and outstanding payouts
• Newly unlocked trophies
• A rotating tip or expert tip pointing at a setting you may not know about. Tips can be dismissed and then stay dismissed.

Everything else lives one level down. That is deliberate: an overview that shows everything shows nothing.

What waits for your approval

Three things land with you instead of running automatically:

Reward wishes. A kid suggests a reward, optionally with a coin price of their own. You accept — setting the final price — or decline.

Payouts. A redeemed reward waits for you to deliver it in the real world and mark it as paid out.

Cancellation requests. Kids cannot simply make a task disappear. They can request a cancellation; you have to agree. There are no XP and no coins for it.

You can also switch on approval for completed tasks. The kid then sees "done — waiting for your parents' approval".

Activity feed

The feed shows chronologically what happened — tasks checked off, rewards redeemed, level-ups. Useful mostly for "what actually happened last week?", and for the moment a kid claims to have done something.

Statistics and weekly recap

Statistics separate this month from overall and show per kid:

• Tasks — total, of which bonus, of which mandatory, and how many were not completed
• Coin account — earned, spent, current balance
• Monthly trend — how it develops over time
• Top bonus tasks — which offers actually get picked up
• Games — rounds played, high score, stars collected

The most interesting number is usually "not completed". A task left undone three weeks running is rarely a motivation problem — usually it is cut wrong, too big, or due at the wrong moment.

The weekly recap condenses this without you having to open the statistics.

Managing profiles

Kid profiles get a name and a colour; a profile PIN is optional and keeps siblings out of each other's profiles. A deleted profile does not take its tasks and statistics with it — those are kept. At least one profile has to stay active.

Adults can have a profile too if you want to take on tasks yourselves — and adult profiles can be unlocked so they may grab from the bonus pool as well.

Calendar

The calendar view shows what is due when — across all kids or filtered by person. Useful before you put another task on a Tuesday that already carries four.

Settings

Settings are split into sections (family, tasks, motivation, games, seasons, integrations, parental controls, appearance, storage). Because that is a lot, there is a search at the top — type "todoist" or "pin" and you land on the right switch.
